It should be noted that healthy living is not something that is done for a season, it's something that needs to be done for a lifetime, and there is no real end to the cycle. While that might astonish some, it's a truth that most physicians will agree with. The goal is to live a good and healthy life, not to have to fight bad health and obesity or anything that comes along with maladies associated with being overweight. If you are at wits end or you just need a little motivation, consider the following 3 ideas that will help your quest and keep you on the right path.

1 Meal, Your Way - The first idea is going to scare some, but don't be anxious. Give yourself 1 meal out of the week to indulge in something bad. If you're a huge fan of fried chicken, for instance, give yourself one meal out of your week to eat it. However, do not take that as a cue to eat a whole chicken, or stuff yourself so full you burst. However, allow yourself a little big of wiggle room only once! This is only for those that know they can control themselves. Utilize this as a reward, and you'll find that your diet and exercise routines aren't so hard to manage after all.

Drink More Water - Replace all your sugary drinks with water. Some people claim they don't like the taste of water, but that can be altered. If you seriously can't see yourself drinking straight water, put tea bags in a pitcher and fill it with water, but do not sweeten it, and you'll have a great treat that is not just water. The second thing you could try is adding sliced lemons to a pitcher for a nice treat. Add limes, mint, or just about anything light and you'll get more hydration with ease.

Join a League - If you live in a large metropolitan city, you will have a large parks & recreation department. Visit your local branch and look at the adult leagues that they have. You'll be surprised how many people are enjoying weekly games of kickball, dodge ball, and other team related sports. Some even have big cash prizes that you can compete for, but the goal here is fun. Have fun, get moving, and make new friends in the process.

The above 3 ideas are specifically meant for you to enjoy the process of slimming down. There is no reason why you should hate the process, instead, love life and enjoy the greatness that comes with knowing you're doing something good for yourself. If you find the above ideas too complicated, than simply try one at a time. Take baby steps in your quest to lose weight and you will find the long journey is a lot easier to conquer than by trying to do a 180 degree turn.
