3 Mistakes Women Make When Trying To Lose Weight (Stop These Mistakes)

World Wide Web | 3 Mistakes Women Make When Trying To Lose Weight (Stop These Mistakes) | Have you noticed (and this makes me laugh), the new diet pills that spring up on the market are derived from 'natural sources'. You have the hoodia diet pill, the mango diet pill, the acai berry diet pill and the latest is the raspberry ketone. Ever since the fen phen diet pill scare we've gone 'all natural', except for the Alli drug, which is now being investigated by the FDA, because it may cause liver damage (you don't say). The fact is, I would not touch any of these pills with a 10 foot pole. Whey do we always want the quick and easy way out.

That said, here are 3 mistakes women make when they are trying to lose weight :

Mistake #1 - They don't drink enough water

Without water our body cannot flush out the toxins that are stored in our fat cells. A lot of people drink the sugar-free sodas and drinks, thinking it's helping them in the battle of the bulge, when, in fact, it's creating more toxins in the body. Those chemicals have no where else to go but in the fat cells.

Solution

Add a squeeze of lemon to water. Make ice tea out of herbal/fruit teas and even add a dash of honey if desired. Instead of soda buy sparkling mineral water.

Mistake #2 - Not enough sleep

America runs on adrenaline and caffeine. When we don't get enough sleep the adrenaline keeps on going like the 'energizer bunny' - not good if you want to lose weight. This drives up the cortisol levels which holds onto fat. When you get 7-8 hours of a good nights sleep your body can actually kick those fat cells to the curb.

Solution

Turn the switch off everything and get some unwind time (without the TV ) 30 minutes before you go to bed. You can come up with a daily ritual for this. Throw the TV out of the bedroom (seriously). Drink a soothing herb tea - no toddies or pills please.

Mistake #3 - Eating non-fat, low-fat, high salt processed foods

For the sake of convenience the diet foods have worked their magic on us, but I ain't buying it! These foods are non-nourishing, chemical laden junk, and they are even in some health food stores. The worst culprits are the protein bars.

Solution

Get real! I mean real food, that is. Fruits are the best convenience foods; berries have the lowest glycemic index. Check the labels to see what you are really eating. Just take time to prepare simple, wholesome foods in small portions.
